Churches

Discerners become starters and sometimes starters start churches. These churches, as time passes and as God blesses, identify the next generation of faithful innovators.

On the journey to sustainability, churches have a key choice. Churches can choose to continue to faithfully innovate or settle for previous activities. At Cyclical, we believe that the choice to innovate is not only the best decision, but also an essential step in the ongoing lifecycle of the Church.

The task of faithful innovation can feel overwhelming for churches. We get this. To simplify the task, we simply encourage churches toward one goal: identify people whom they would like to invite into the process of discernment.

Three-Phase Process for Beginning a New Church

1) Identify Discerners

The church takes on the work of identifying people who are ready to discern a commitment to starting a faithful innovation. Faithful Innovators are diverse and come from various backgrounds, vocations and cultures. Cyclical has abundant resources to support you through this imagination widening process.

2) Enter the Cycle

At this stage, you will send your Discerners into the ecosystem to participate in multi-tiered relationships of the network. Cyclical can provide coaches, therapists and spiritual directors who specialize in working with existing churches. These professionals will join in leading everyone through the process of discernment.

3) Continued Partnership

How do you want to partner with the faithful innovator to get your faithful innovation off the ground and into motion? From prayer, to assets, to time, there are innumerable ways that a church can join a new faithful innovation to help lift it off the ground.

“Moving from being a starter to a sustainable church is a process that involves key relationships. Cyclical was that key relationship connecting us to coaching, training, and financial support. If it takes a tribe to raise a child, then it takes a network to raise a church.”

— Cory Marquez, Founding Pastor of New Abbey
